Scandinavian airlines, SAS, were recently awarded Europe’s most punctual airline company.
Punctuality being one of SAS key Brand Values, we set out to demonstrate this great achievement. Which we did by putting their punctuality in the centre of the campaign.
At the same time SAS has an ongoing struggle being seen in the search-engines, so we also needed to find a new and engaging way of catching the costumers attention.
We connected every SAS plane to our Banner.
Every time an SAS plane landed in Copenhagen, it flew through our Banner in real time. If the users were as punctual as the flight and caught the plane at the exact moment when it flew through the Banner, they got a great price on tickets to the destination the plane arrived from.
This way we constantly reminded customers that SAS is punctual.
Technically we live-streamed all daytime arrivals direct into the Banner. And therefor automatically generating new video content constantly.
The actually offer (price) is rendered on to the plane according to the destination arriving from.
We only created one banner - and it was formatted and developed so it could be inserted into any platform or media. So the story could spread seamlessly.
The Banner had more than 150.000 active users within the first week. They each spend an average of 2 minutes and 40 seconds, in our Banner. Which made this the most engaging SAS Campaign ever.
But importantly, they got to see how Europe's most punctual airline company's planes arrived right on time.
This “pilot-campaign” is now a base for a new and ongoing SAS platform to attract customers, and not just in the typical low price periods.
We have taken the focus back to punctuality which is one of the key values of the SAS Brand.
And SAS automatically provides new video content every single day.
